Witchy Tip of the Week: Aiding Anxiety

Hello friends! Not feeling the best today. Not sure if it's the energy shifting or what, but my mood is just not with it. Feeling short tempered, a little on edge. The backspace on my keyboard is sticking just enough that I may chuck it across the room kind of annoyed mood where the fact it took me 10 times to write that sentence is going to make me need to pause and let out a little mini scream before I continue.


Anyways, this week we are going to dive into ways to deal with these grumpy gross moods to make them better sooner than later. These are all easy to do and accessible, so common cures!





Herbs:

- Lavendar: quiets the mind to relieve stress

- Lemon Balm: calms and gently steers mind away from emotional stress.

- Ashwagandha: rejuvenates the system by calming the nerves & protects against stress

- Holy Basil (Tulsi): helps balances the sugars in your body that like to spike cortisol

- Chamomile: calms nerves & stomach


Activities:

- Meditation: breathing exercises help regain neutrality in the body's nervous system. Meditation helps your body take a moment to collect itself, focus on the things it can control, and then find its foundation again.

- Find the Rainbow: Another great nervous system activity. Scan your surroundings! Identity one item of each color. One item Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink. And then again until you feel better.

- Feel the Senses: This one is kind of like the Find the Rainbow activity, but we use our senses. First pick out 5 things you see. 4 things you hear, 3 things you can touch, 2 things you can smell, 1 thing you can taste. It will help you come back into your body.

- Somatic tapping: EFT Tapping is something newer I have been exploring that I find extremely helping. Its kind of like tapping into your nervous system and rewiring your brain by literally tapping parts of your body. You have specific points you tap, eyebrow, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, chin, beginning of the collarbone, under the arm, each of these points aligning with somewhere in the nervous system. While tapping you say a mantra/message you want to get through to your body. Once the mantra is done you move to the next spot and say the mantra again until all spaces have been tapped, ending with the head again. It works wonders. See this wonderful to learn more. Short and sweet this week kids! Going to go do some of these activities myself & probs take a long soak in a bath with some of those oils.
