Kitchen Witch Fun

Hello friends! Long time since I posted an actual blog post, whoops. Blaming it on recovering burnout & trying to not take the fun out of things I enjoy doing! Anyway, since the last time we chatted, I have been in the pits of rolling out the other part of my business, Potions. If you haven't checked out that page or my social media yet, they will tell you more.

Since I am flourishing in my Kitchen Witch Era, I thought it would be a good idea to discuss how to bring a little more magic into your day via the foods you eat and the beverages you drink. Now I did a post about Kitchen Witchery last year in February so this is probably a little bit repetitive but if you haven't read that post, you should. With that being said, Kitchen Witchery is exactly what it sounds like, witchery that is done in the kitchen /towards things that are made in kitchens. That means you can technically put intention into anything that you are making and with the right ingredients the spell can really take off.

For instance, say you have a cold, and you also are feeling really low energy. A kitchen witch would go and collect lemons, for not only their purification properties but also their high Vitamin C content, and honey, for its soothing properties & natural antimicrobial properties as well. From there you could simply make tea and when adding the lemon and honey hone in on the intentions you want to bring forth from them while you stir. Or you can take it to another level and bring in even more ingredients and go for a honey lemon shortcake cookie or honey lemon simple syrup to be added to future concoctions.

The best part about doing Kitchen witchery is that it is what you make it. It can be simple or complicated. Beautiful or a disaster. It becomes what you make it into based on the intention you want to bring in.

A delightful kitchen witch recipe featuring lemon is Lemon Lavender Honey Tea. This soothing and uplifting tea combines the refreshing citrus flavor of lemon with the calming aroma of lavender and the sweetness of honey. Here's how to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender buds (food-grade)

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 1-2 tablespoons honey (adjust to taste)

  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the water to a gentle boil over medium heat.

  2. Once the water is boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the dried lavender buds. Cover the saucepan with a lid and let the lavender steep in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes.

  3. After steeping, strain the lavender-infused water into a teapot or serving pitcher, discarding the lavender buds.

  4. Add the fresh lemon juice and honey to the lavender-infused water, stirring well to combine. Adjust the amount of honey according to your taste preferences.

  5. Serve the Lemon Lavender Honey Tea hot in teacups or mugs. Garnish each serving with a slice of lemon if desired.

  6. As you prepare and serve the tea, focus your intentions on promoting relaxation, clarity, and positivity. Visualize the soothing energy of the lavender and the uplifting brightness of the lemon infusing the tea with magical properties.

  7. Take a moment to savor each sip of the tea, allowing its flavors and aromas to envelop you. Feel the warmth and comfort it brings to your body and spirit.

This Lemon Lavender Honey Tea is not only a delicious beverage but also a magical elixir that can help you connect with the healing energies of nature and promote well-being in mind, body, and soul. Enjoy it as a refreshing pick-me-up or as part of your daily rituals for self-care and mindfulness. So simple and so beneficial!
