Full Moon in Scorpio: Alchemy, Release & Rebirth

Whoops, look like I missed a full moon last month, sorry about that! I guess the Libra full moon needed my attention elsewhere! Anyways, this month we find ourselves under the awe-inspiring glow of the Full Moon in Scorpio, and we're invited to explore our emotional depths. This event encourages us to confront our shadows and embrace transformation through release and renewal. Unlike other lunar phases, this Full Moon presents a golden opportunity for profound inner work. It allows us to shed old layers and emerges renewed, ready for fresh beginnings.

The Vibe of This Full Moon

The Full Moon in Scorpio does not hold back, it brings powerful emotions that can sometimes feel overwhelming. This sign is known for the themes of death and rebirth, shadow work, and profound transformation, so under the power and energy of the full moon, the energy is even more intense, and the depths of the work can be overwhelming.

During this full moon, expect raw emotions to surface. The essence of Scorpio spurs us to explore the depths of our psyche, confront fears, and acknowledge hidden truths. This is the full moon to embrace your shadow instead of being afraid of it. Remember, it is often in our darkest moments that we discover our most authentic selves.

Full Moon Rituals & Practices

Fire Release Ritual

Oddly enough, doing a fire release during a water sign full moon is a great way to get pent-up emotions out of the body and into the universe. Scorpio, in my opinion, is the fieriest of the water signs, being ruled by Mars traditionally, so do as the pyros do and burn something (safely!). Write down what you're ready to release: fears, toxic patterns, relationships, or inner narratives. Safely burn the paper under the moonlight (in a fire-safe bowl or cauldron). As it burns, say aloud or in your head: “I release what no longer serves. I rise renewed.” Discard the ashes far away from your home or at a crossroads.

Ritual Bath for Emotional Detox

More on brand, of course, is the classic Full Moon Bath. With it being a more emotional full moon, add a little extra layer of purifying and protection this go around. Add Epsom salt, black obsidian or smoky quartz (optional), lavender, and rosemary. Light candles and play soft music. Imagine the water pulling heavy emotional energy from your body.

Shadow Integration Candle Meditation

Working with the shadow aspects of the Scorpio sign, dig a little deeper with a candle and some & light meditation. Sit with a black or dark purple candle. Reflect on a part of yourself you've judged or buried. Speak compassionately to that part as if it's a younger version of you. Ask: “What do you need from me now?”

Cord-Cutting + Protection

A personal favorite of mine is a cord-cutting ceremony. This ritual helps surrender the energy that is bringing you down and will leave you feeling more whole once the leeches are no longer attached. Visualize energetic cords between you and anyone or anything draining you. Use a crystal (like selenite or obsidian) to "cut" the cords by sweeping it through your aura. Finish by anointing your body with protective oil (like rosemary or frankincense). Don't forget to close the circle/energy. If you leave the tethers open, they tend to reattach.

Scorpio Full Moon Journal + Intention Setting

Of course, using this blog and its journal questions is a great way to tap into the Scorpio energy! Use the 10 journal questions at the end of this blog post to write out 1–3 powerful intentions for the next lunar cycle. Each question is designed to open up your mind and perception to new depths of your inner world.

How to Make the Scorpio Full Moon Amazing

Be Brave Enough to Go Deep

Don’t stay surface-level. Let this moon guide you inward—into your shadow, your intuition, your deepest truths. Journaling, therapy, or soul conversations are gold right now. Make space for your emotions—cry, journal, or meditate. Let buried feelings rise so you can release them. Scorpio asks for truth, not avoidance.

Do a Sacred Purge

The full moon is all about surrendering yourself to the power of the universe and feeling the pull of the ways of the universe. You can't welcome in new and amazing things if odd ways are blocking the avenues for the better to arrive. Purge. Declutter your space, cut energetic cords, or perform a fire or water ritual. This is the moon for endings that lead to rebirth.

Reclaim Your Power

Once you clear your energy, don't backpedal!! It is okay to be the bad guy, the villain, or the black sheep if that means you can live a life that feels worth living to you. Not everyone is supposed to be a part of your full journey. It is okay to let relationships and attachments go or redefine them! You have to first be powerful enough to know you deserve better and reclaim the power to make those choices and stick with them. Set clear boundaries. Say no without guilt. Tune into your intuition and ask: What version of me is ready to rise from the ashes?

Embracing Transformation

Full Moons always seem to end up being about transforming, but that is part of the human experience. We are not meant to stay the same, especially when everything around us is constantly going through transformations every day. During the Scorpio energy of this moon, the transformation must be embraced and welcomed for the better to continue to show up. Very rarely does change happen for the worse in the long run. Even if things are rough right now does not mean they will always stay that way. The low parts of the journey show us how high we must climb, and the high parts show us how far we may fall, and both instances teach us how to be the truest version of ourselves.

Until next time,

xoxo
